1Poor and frustrating product
By W. Ellis
I received this item as a Christmas present and it is a complete waste of time. Installation was a nightmare on both Windows 7 and Vista. Could not load the software or drivers correctly. No driver or download support from the manufacturer. During my search I found many postings looking for the same support I was in search of. After 4 attempts on each computer it finally would recognize the hardware only to lock up after every save of scanned images. The scan quality is only fair and the images are hot with washed out areas generally faces. I have yet to scan more than 6 slides without a lockup and at times rescans to save the images. The frustration is not worth the effort. Save your money, shop around and steer clear of this product.

1Struggle to install.
By mnskibb
Steer clear of this. Again, you get what you pay for. This is an inexpensive solution. I worked for 3 hours to install. Never scanned one slide. My computer will not recognize the scanner. I did tons of update, mess up my display settings and caused new errors. I consider myself a seasoned computer user. I would not recomend this, It is not even close to plug and play. Thank goodnes for windows restore function on my computer. :(

1Needs a redesign
By Teddy_Mak
It took me three tries to get the driver installed, but the unit worked properly after that. The color and resolution are just OK. Another issue is the feed mechanism. You must align your negative(s) perfectly with several slots and tabs, which is almost impossible without touching the photos themselves. The unit should have had a reel type mechanism to feed the film into.

I received this film converter for FREE using bonus points, which makes it a good value. The retail price is way to high. Move on to something else.
