5Easy to use with good results
By Fleethaven
Well, despite the two marketing pitches and the one rather negative review I bought one anyway after I did some more research and decided to try it out. I wanted something easy that did not require undivided attention and careful aligning of the prints like you have to do on a flat bet scanner.

Ease of use:

It does what it says - the resolution is fine for prints, it pulls them through easily taking about 10 seconds to scan each one. I have none of the troubles reported by the other user. I have now scanned 582 of prints I have only had to re-scan a handful when they got stuck because I set the alignment slider too narrow. Compared to flat bed scanners it is easy to use and you can feed the thing while watching TV or whatever.

Size and resolution:

The jpegs are generally less than 1.5 Mb each depending on size and detail. For a 4x6 inch print they are about 3700x2500 pixels - equivalent to a 9 Megapixel camera. The resolution is as good as is required for prints which are grainy anyway. All my prints fit easily on the provided 1Gb card so far.

Material scanned:
The prints that I scanned are 'modern' (less than 15 year old) color prints which are by and large regular in size and in good condition and everything works just fine without using the provided sleves, I have yet to do my parents and grandparents older black and white prints of varying sizes and conditions and I am expecting to have to use the sleeve with some of them.

Conclusion:
I would certainly recommend this scanner as fit for purpose. Would I buy it again? - yes.

5Quick, Portable, and a Great Buy!
By pinkranger
I just received this in the mail today and scanned about 5 pictures to test it out. So far, it's great. It's very quick and the scans come out really good. It is also extremely portable, so you could take it with you to scan photos at other people's houses as well. I undertook the task of scanning all family photos, and I have been putting it off because using a normal scanner is very time consuming. This scanner is very quick and automatically crops the photos too (saving even more time). I highly recommend it to people who want to scan a bunch of photos, but don't have the patience to use a bigger scanner. Also, you can order it directly from the pandigital website for under $100 including shipping.

5Great Scanner at Good Price
By train guy
This scanner is allowing me to finally organize all my loose photos that seemed imposible to accomplish. Trying to get the photos into albums simply was not happening even after years of attempting to. Read the instructions and follow them--then in just a very short time you can scan photo after photo very quickly. Everything you need is included with the scanner. I scan a certain subject at a time to the supplied 1G SD card and then plug it into the computer to create a digital photo album in just a few minutes.I feel the quality of the scans are quite good, even sometimes looking better than the origial. I am quickly organizing nearly 15 years and thousands of photos into digital albums that are far easier to view. Also a good idea to backup on an external hard drive in case of a crash. Simply a great product.
