Bad Quality

I tried scanning some Medium Format negatives and was disgusted by the quality. Very fuzzy and unsaturated, low contrast, and even the photos came out unevenly cropped. Seems like there is just a cheap webcam inside that takes a picture of it... I expected more than that.

You get what you pay for

I was reading the reviews and was dredding purchasing this scanner. I still purchased it anyways. Honestly, after comparing this other film scanners. Choose this scanner if you are on a tight budget but if your have the money, then go big and get a more decent scanner. I bought this scanner to scan 120 film and for some reason there are not a lot of scanners out there for people on a budget. Next affordable price was $250 and that was used. This scanner basically just scans the film. So you will be doing some touch ups in post. The scanner will turn a negative to a positive and do some color correction. This versus other scanner that give you better quality and scans. You get what you pay for. This scanner is also not a traditional scanner. Its a CMOS scanner. Which in one of the previous reviews. It is basically a camera in a box with a light behind it.

It is very lightweight plastic which was a surprise to me for the price paid. Manual has limited information for a novice. Example: manual has the size (12M-1M) is this for showing on the computer or little viewer on the MemorEase ST? Manual doesn't really tell how to return from viewing back to rescanning screen/option. Attached the scanner to computer to view pictures, easy, but when removed from computer had to unplug MemorEase ST and reset the entire thing. Will scan all film without reviewing them, attach to computer and edit through computer. It will do what is needed, just won't use the fancy stuff, including the magic touch, until sure needed. Recommend using a flatbed scanner with adapter for film, used one, it was a lot better. So! didn't give it an A rating, C at best.
